This plant has been used in Europe since antiquity as a medicinal and aromatic plant, notably to flavor but also to preserve meat. In cooking, several parts of the plant can be used, with very distinct flavors: the leaves are used as fresh herbs, the seeds are dried and then used whole (as is the case here) or grounded. This spice, characterized by an orange fragrance and a slight bitterness, is mainly used in savory dishes. Sprinkle on fish, grilled meats, soups, rice, eggplant or in salads.
